This absolutely stunning siding is in Roseburg, Oregon.  Definitely in an area of Oregon that would rather use wood than brick no matter what.  It is on the Dysinger House, c.1910.  W.L. Dysinger was, of course, a lumberman.  My vote for most surprising faux material:
